Nashville School Board

The Nashville School Board met Monday evening. The 2021-2022 school budget was presented by the Superintendent. Doug Graham, and approved by board via unanimous decision. Graham’s Superintendent report gave that the Wilson Park project was estimated to be complete in December, the roof on the Primary school was 50% completed, the new HVAC units for the elementary were 90% completed, and the iWave system was operational in the Elementary and Primary schools while the Jr High and High School’s units were still awaiting delivery. The Nashville School District shows 1,932 enrolled on the first day of school with 15 of those being virtual across the entire district. After giving these numbers, Graham stated he believes people are seeing the importance that face to face instruction holds. For reference, at the beginning of the 2020 school year 400 students were enrolled for virtual learning on their 1st day. The district reports 49 active cases of COVID within the district including those quarantined due to potential exposure, however, it’s important to note that the vast majority of those did not attend school today.

Tonight the Scrappers will play a scrimmage game in Hotsprings at the Chick Austin Stadium beginning at 5pm. Tickets are only available via online purchase. You can not purchase tickets at the gate. Visit our Facebook page @SouthwestArkansasRadio to purchase those tickets.
