Floyd updates Nashville City Council on activities at the Nashville City Park

Nashville Parks and Recreation has several activities happening during the summer months.  Parks Director Meghan Floyd reported on activities Monday during the Nashville City Council meeting.  Floyd said there is an AAU basketball program taking place at Whiteside Gym.  While not directly affiliated with the park, Floyd said she is working with Reliable Poultry on installation of a 36 inch fan to help circulate air within the gym during the summer season.  The company has agreed to donate the fan..Floyd also reported on Stand Up For America and a car show that will be happening Saturday in the park, along with a co-ed tournament on July 26th and Junior Auxiliary 5K event July 23rd.  In addition to those activities, Floyd says the park will host a Kids Day program twice weekly, beginning July 6th.  Looking ahead to the fall, the park will sponsor a flag football league for kids 4 to 7 years of age.
