Former Dollar General Manager Accused of Stealing Over $2,500 in Store Deposits
A former manager at the Dollar General in Mineral Springs is under investigation after more than $2,500 in store deposits were reported missing.
According to the affidavit, that on March 20th, 2025 Officer Alex Gamble with the Mineral Springs Police Department responded to a theft report at the Dollar General on East Runnels Street. The complaint stemmed from an internal investigation into missing funds that began in late February.
According to store officials, a cash deposit totaling $2,396.91 from February 23, 2025, was never received by the bank. Surveillance footage and deposit records indicate that the deposit was placed in the store’s time-delayed safe as protocol dictates, but the funds were never processed by the bank.
Further review of security footage reportedly showed former store manager 34 year old Jessica Ephron of Mineral Springs removing a large stack of deposit bags from the safe on February 25, placing them into a yellow Dollar General shopping bag, and exiting the building.
The internal investigation also uncovered a separate cash shortage of $158.64 from February 4th, 2025 during which Ephron was seen on video failing to secure a cash drop into the store safe. The money was never recovered.
In total, Ephron is believed to have stolen approximately $2,555.55 from the store during her employment. She resigned from her position on February 26th, 2025 and has not responded to attempts at communication from store management since.
The case is currently under investigation by local law enforcement. No charges have been filed as of this report.
