Fountain Lake man sentenced to ADC

A Fountain Lake man was given a two year prison sentence Monday in Pike County Circuit Court. 47 year old Adrian Howell was charged in January with Possession of a Controlled Substance and fleeing. Authorities said Howell led them on a pursuit along Highway 27 through the city of Mrufreesboro and southward, with speeds reaching 100 miles per hour. The pursuit ended, when Howell stopped near the Pike/Hempstead County line. Police said they recovered two baggies of suspected methamphetamine from Howell’s vehicle. After transporting him to the Pike County Jail, police say Howell passed out and was taken to a hospital. Reports said Howell later told police he had been using methamphetamine the previous two weeks, and didn’t remember anything.

In addition to the two year prison sentence he was given yesterday, Howell was also given a four year suspended sentence on the charges.
