Four NHS students sign National Letters of Intent: Journey Pope
Friday morning, four Nashville High School student-athletes signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their athletic careers in college, while pursuing their degrees.
Journey Pope signed with the University of the Ozarks to play tennis. Miller Goff signed with Ouachita Baptist University to run track. Wade Wescott signed with UA Cossatot to compete on the school’s shooting sports team. And, Sloan Perrin signed with Harding University to play football.
Friday morning’s ceremony was attended the four student’s families and teammates.
Nashville Athletic Director, James Bunch Nichols said it was a great day because these young Scrappers who are going to further their education and continue competing in the sports they love.
Southwest Arkansas Radio will focus on each individual student-athletes over the next four-days. Today, we will begin with Journey Pope.
Nashville High Tennis coach, Maddie McRae was unable to attend Friday’s ceremony, but she asked her mom, Terri McJunkins to speak on her behalf about Pope.
Tomorrow Southwest Arkansas will focus on Wade Wescott.
