Fugitt appointed to vacant Murfreesboro City Council seat

The Murfreesboro City Council has a new member. Jane Fugitt was appointed Monday to fill an open seat from the town’s West Ward. Fugitt replaces Jeff Walls. He chose not to seek reelection last year and resigned December 31st so that someone could be appointed for the seat with the beginning of the new year.
Since last night’s meeting was the first of the new council term, they set their meeting dates and times, by voting to continue meeting the second Tuesday evening of each month, unless that day falls on a holiday. In that case, the meeting will be delayed by one week.
