Governor lifts mask mandate

Two significant announcements regarding COVID-19 were made Tuesday by Governor Asa Hutchinson during his weekly press conference pertaining to the pandemic. As expected, the governor said the state’s mask mandate is being lifted, effective immediately. While there is no mandate now in place, Governor Hutchinson said hospitals, schools, government offices and private businesses may still require a face covering, and he encouraged people to be respectful of those who decide to continue wearing a face mask:

The other significant announcement resulting from yesterday’s press conference, was the announcement that anyone 16 years of age and older is now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Howard County locations offering the vaccines include Power Pharmacy and Wal-Mart in Nashville and Dierks Pharmacy. In Pike County, the COVID-19 shots are available at pharmacy locations in Murfreesboro and Glenwood.
