Grover Hill named new superintendent of Dierks School District
Thursday night, during the first regular board meeting of the newly elected Dierks School Board, the five members voted to hire Umpire principal Grover Hill as the new superintendent of the Dierks School District. Umpire High School and Elementary School are a part of the Cossatot River School District.
Seventeen candidates applied for the position of superintendent of the Dierks School District, but three candidates withdraw their names from consideration before the interview process started this week.
Other candidates included Dierks High School principal Gene Strode, Scott Feemster, former De Queen High School principal Brian Blackwood, Mickey Ford and Ladonna White, who works for UA Cossatot.
The Dierks School Board interviewed four candidates, one on Tuesday, one Wednesday and two Thursday night during their regular board meeting.
Board members also hired Alex Clark as the new band director. Clark was an assistant band director last year in the De Queen School District.
