HC 4-H invites Rotarians to annual BBQ Bowl
Wednesday afternoon, members of the Howard County 4-H spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club about their upcoming 4-H BBQ Bowl.
4-H member, Anna Kate McKinnon reported the BBQ Bowl would be held at the Howard County Fairgrounds on Saturday, February 11th, from 11 am to 1 pm.
Sara Beth Lamb stated the BBQ Bowl is a fundraiser that helps 4-H members attend a variety of competitions, tours and conferences.
Howard County Extension Agent and 4-H director, Samantha Horn said the BBQ Bowl is sponsored by the 4-H Foundation Board. The board includes James Chandler, Dana Newberg, Max Tackett, Jodie King and Don Fletcher, Danielle Kitchens, Glen Lance, Tina Conzel, John Howard, Lisa Bell and Billy Ray Jones. Howard County Extension Agent Jean Ince and Horn serve as ex-facto members.
Lance told the Rotarians that the BBQ Bowl started in 1990 as a fundraiser for the Nashville Kiwanis Club, but in 1993, the Kiwanis turned the fundraiser over to the 4-H Foundation to help raise funds to support the Howard County 4-H clubs.
