HC Quorum Court votes to allow NHRWA to seek grant

The Howard County Quorum Court this week approved a  resolution allowing the North Howard Rural Water Association to seek a million dollar grant.  The money would be used to complete repairs to the water system that serves the Umpire/Athens areas.  The grant, being sought through the Arkansas Natural Resources Conservation program, would be in addition to funds that have already been supplied by the quorum court.  The local funds were part of the American Rescue Plan, which provided money to the county during the COVID-19 pandemic.
