Hempstead County accepting Absentee Ballot Requests

Hempstead County Clerk Karen Smith says voting absentee in Hempstead County boils down to one simple beginning…just call her office at 777-2241. If someone wants to to vote by mail, or absentee as it is referred to, Hempstead County residents should contact Smith’s office and request an absentee ballot application. Smith said her staff will in turn send them the application and once it’s filled out…and the information is verified to be correct, a ballot will sent to citizens once they have been received at the clerk’s office.
October 5th is the deadline to become a registered voter for the November election.
