HMH Board Meeting

Tuesday, Howard Memorial Hospital Board of Directors held their regular monthly meeting. 

The board approved a motion to purchase the Invenia Automated Breast Ultrasound machine in the amount of $295,679 dollars. This machine offers solutions across the entire breast care pathway, and it’s designed to detect cancer in dense breast tissue that may be missed by mammography. The Board also approved another motion to replace the EKG machines with newer GE Healthcare’s Mac 7 resting ECG System models in the amount of $22,000 dollars. All were in favor of the motion.

Doctor Carla Pumphrey presented the newly appointed and reappointed credentials that were presented to Medical Staff, and she said that their paperwork was in order. New appointments are George English III, MD-Pathologist, Ewane Ngone, MD-Emergency Services, and April Johnson, RN-Wound Care. Reappointments are Keith Mitchell, MD-Courtesy, Frank Teed, MD-Ophthalmology, Daniel Stock, MD-Radiologist, Carla Pumphrey-MD-Hospitalist, and Shalunda Sasser, NP-Compass. 

In conclusion, the board decided that they will combine the December and January meetings and it will be on Tuesday January 23rd, 2024.
