HMH Eligible for ARPA Funding
Board Members of the Howard Memorial Hospital met Tuesday night.
According to the CEO’s report as of February 20th, eight surgeries have been performed using robotics. CEO Debra Wright mentioned having discussions with a specialty surgeon who’s also interested in performing robotics cases. Wright said quote “The implementation of Robotics will ensure that HMH continues to provide general surgery using state of the art technology.
HMH received notification from DHS that they’re an eligible hospital for the next distribution of the Arkansas Plan Rescue Act Hospital Funds. In order to apply, HMH had to agree to an independent review of the financial and operational condition of the hospital. Participation in this review is a condition of receiving any of the $60 million in ARPA Funding. A review will be done by a representative from the Alvarez and Marsal Public Sector Services by March 21st.
Doctor John Hearnsberger recommended to the board reappointing Dr Bertrand Fonji for Robotics, Dr. Mark Sutherland for Robotics, and Dr Fawad Walajahi. These doctors was unanimously approved by the medical staff. The board approved Dr Hearnsberger recommendation.
