Nashville Parks and Recreation Commission March meeting

Members of the Nashville Parks and Recreation Commission held their regular monthly meeting yesterday.

Park and Recreation Director Meghan Floyd informed the board that baseball kicks off next Monday March 25th. Floyd stated that they ended up with 237 Nashville kids in the draft and 264 out of town kids coming to play which makes it a total of 501 kids in the league. Floyd said they are steadily increasing and that’s a good thing.

Floyd even mentioned how the Jamboree was a success.

Floyd discussed the upcoming Solar Eclipse and she stated that there are no bookings in the park so they will be moving forward with games on April 8th but if there be an influx of traffic in the park, she said that they are already prepared to move the games to April 9th.

Floyd said they are going to host an 8U Tournament on April 20th and what the price will be per team.

In conclusion, Floyd mentioned that the Region’s Pavilion no longer had pea gravel in it, and it needed to be filled again because it was a safety hazard. After further discussion, the commission approved a motion to purchase pea gravel to put in the Region’s Pavilion playground at the park.
