Hope man arrested for fleeing and drug charges
On February 26th, Nashville Patrol Officer Dillon Roberts attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Honda Accord for expired vehicle tags.
According to the affidavit, after the vehicle pulled back onto the roadway Roberts initiated his vehicle warning lights and siren and advised the on-duty dispatcher that he was in pursuit. It was reported that the vehicle pulled into a gravel parking spot at the corner of Peachtree Street and Hearn Street. Officers reportedly had to position their patrol vehicles to stop the suspect from driving off.
The driver was identified as 36 year old Adrian Jarrett of Hope.
As reported, the passenger who was identified as 21 year old Cindy R Luna of Hope had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Officers reported that they retrieved a glass smoke pipe with a burnt substance believed to be marijuana. Officers also retrieved a clear plastic bag containing two individual bags which contained a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine in the area that Jarrett drove through. Jarrett reportedly confessed that the smoke pipe was his but he didn’t know that it had suspected methamphetamine.
Luna was arrested and charged with Possession of a schedule II controlled substance methamphetamine with purpose to deliver.
Jarrett was also arrested and charged with fleeing, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver.
