Hope resident arrested on drug warrants in Pike County
On November 4th, Officers with the 9th West Drug Task Force, Homeland Security, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Community Corrections, 9th East Drug Task Force, 8th Drug Task Force, and Pike County Sheriff’s Office, were attempting to locate 39 year Christopher James Hicks of Hope, for felony warrants.
It was reported that Officers went to Billstown Rd. Officers stated that they had seen a tent and a camper in the area. As the Officers approached the camper, they spotted a white male running from a shed and getting on a three-wheeler. Officers quickly noticed that it was Hicks.
As reported Hicks attempted to flee the scene by running on foot, but officers caught him and took him into custody.
Officers also reported that after searching the deer blind and the tent they confiscated two bags of a crystal substance testing presumptive positive for methamphetamine, weighing 31 grams, and a set of digital scales. Officers also found a 5 dollar bill that had a line of crystal substance in it, a rifle, a pistol, another bag of crystal substance, along with 2 additional firearms.
Hicks confessed that the items that were confiscated belonged to him but the 2 additional firearms belonged to a friend.
Hicks was booked into the Pike County Jail and was charged with Simultaneous Possession of Firearm and Drugs, Possession of Methamphetamine with the Purpose to Deliver, and Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons.
