House fire claims the life of Nashville resident

On January 15, 2024 at 5:40 am the Nashville Fire Department, Center Point Fire Department, and Nashville Police Department responded to a house fire at 103North 7th Street in Nashville. Upon arrival the front of the residence was fully involved with fire, witnesses advised a female resident was inside the house. The fire was contained, and firefighters located a deceased female inside the living room located at the front of the residence. The female was identified as 89-year-old, Patsy Bennett.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. Fire Chief Justin Thornton said quote “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mrs. Patsy Bennett.”

That same morning at approximately 11:48am the Mineral Springs Fire Department was dispatched to 310 N Mercer St in Mineral Springs. It was reported that they found a mobile home on fire. All occupants were out of the house safely with no injuries. Unfortunately, the house was a total loss. Hostetler stated that the cause of fire was undetermined, but they suspected it was a space heater that was in use. Hosteler said they were assisted by the County Line Fire Department.
