Howard County Court

Howard County Court was in session Wednesday bringing 21 YO Khalil Williams of Fulton. Williams is facing  a Class A Felony of Murder in the 2nd Degree. Facts Constituting Reasonable Cause are as follows:

On June 27th Deputy Trent Coffman followed a vehicle to the Howard Memorial Hospital and upon arriving saw a male later identified as Willie Lewis laying on the floor. Coffman spoke with the driver and learned that they were at a residence in Mineral Spring and Lewis had suffered a gunshot wound after an altercation had occurred. 2 weeks prior Lewis had been in a verbal altercation with a man and upon seeing him again at a gathering at a residence in Mineral Springs he was approached where another verbal altercation erupted. Sydney Walker was there with Lewis and tried to break up the two but a gun was pulled and fired twice – one shot hitting Lewis. On June 28th Chief Deputy Joey Davis and Investigator Blake Eudy interviewed Avante Evans by phone who stated he was at the residence at the time and saw a man wearing a black hoodie running from the scene after the shots were fired. Walker later identified Khalial Williams as the man that pulled the gun and shot Willie Lewis. Lewis died at St. Michael’s hospital 2 days later as a result of his injuries. Williams Pre-trial and trial dates are currently pending.
