Dierks School Board

Dierks School Board met Tuesday evening discussing a number of items. Starting off the principles gave their reports of the year end and the positive progress of ongoing summer activities. Superintendent, Jody Cowart, discussed with the board purchases that did not require board approval due to being under that threshold price but that he did want their input on. In discussion with the board Cowart received positive feedback on the purchase of more whiteboards for the school, small roof repairs to be done, a playground border to be installed, and sound proof paneling to be put up in the storm shelter. Also on the agenda was the consideration of purchasing more Promethean boards to which both principles spoke highly of, saying overall feedback began slowly but after becoming familiar with the technology students and teachers alike value them as a resourceful teaching tool. And lastly the Dierks School board discussed options for the removal of the modular buildings on the campus. Tuesday night approval was given for the sale of 1 unit for $500 however no interest has been taken in the remaining buildings. Options for removal will be discussed next month if not sold.
