Howard County leads state in Rabies cases
Howard County continues to lead the state in the number of rabies cases reported this year. So far, there have been three skunks & one dog to test positive for rabies locally. In other counties across the area, Clark County has seen a bat & skunk testing positive. Polk, Columbia, and Nevada counties have each had one skunk confirmed with rabies.
The Arkansas Department of Health says the statewide total includes 12 skunks, 11 bats, two dogs and two cats, for a total of 27 rabies cases this year across the state.
