Howard County Quorum approves purchase of cooling unity for the county mortuary
Monday afternoon, during the regular meeting of the Howard County Quorum Court, County Judge Brent Pinkerton made a recommendation that the county purchase a cooling unit for the county mortuary.
Pinkerton said the cooling unit went out a few months ago and needs to be replaced. He recommended purchasing a unit from a Howard County business, Mainstream Heating and Air at a cost of $5,000.07. That price includes the unit, tax and installation. Pinkerton said a second bid was received from Mooretech Manufacturing out of California for $3,733.55, but that price did not include shipping.
Jps approved Pinkerton’s recommendation and voted to use funds from the unappropriated money fund.
Prior to the regular quorum court meeting, a public meeting was held to finalize a water project for the North Howard County Rural Water Association.
Pinkerton said the project has been completed and a new water line has been installed on Jackson Road near Dierks Lake. He said the grant was in the amount of $500,000.
