HC Fair Board shares some exciting news with Nashville Rotary Club members

Howard County Fair Board member John Raulerson was the guest speaker at this week’s Nashville Rotary Club meeting. He was joined by board members, Beth Lamb, Sydney Reed, Katlynn Miller and Karter Castleberry.

Raulerson announced the Howard County Fair will begin Monday, September 5th with the annual fair parade at 5 pm on Main Street in Nashville. If you are interested in entering a float, tractor, vehicle, horse or ATV, contact Castleberry at 557-5775. Raulerson said the fair will officially open to the public Tuesday, September 6 and run through Saturday, September 10. He said they have made some upgrades to the facilities and they will have a record number of livestock exhibits and possibly exhibitors.

Raulerson said the carnival will be running Wednesday through Saturday from 6 to 10 pm and they will have between 12 to 15 rides. He also announced the fair board was holding a Ranch Rodeo at 10 am and a Bull Riding event at 8 pm in the arena on Saturday.

Raulerson said they will also have several ‘fun’ events for folks to participate in, including an old-timer’s show that you can nominate people to participate in for just $5. He said all of the proceeds from this event will go to the fair board’s scholarship program.

The Nashville Rotary Club will have lunch at the fair kitchen on Wednesday, September 7 and visit with fair exhibitors after lunch.
