Howard County Solar Project Going Operational

Howard county’s new solar panels are getting close to being activated. A brief ceremony was held yesterday afternoon to power up the panels. However, Rossy Allen with the McKinstry Engineering Company, says the units won’t begin generating power until the middle of next week:

The solar display, located on the former Howard Memorial Hospital property, is part of major energy saving project the county has been undergoing in recent months. The 1.85 million dollar project is expected to save the county around 97 percent of its energy costs.
