Howard County Voters Elect School Board Members, Approve Sales Tax

Voters in Howard County cast their ballots in several key local elections on Tuesday, selecting new school board members and approving a countywide sales tax measure. While results are final, they remain unofficial pending certification.

In the Nashville School District Zone Two race, Tem Gunter emerged victorious with 146 votes, defeating DJ Hibberd, who received 52 votes.

Meanwhile, in the Dierks School Board race, Jaron Tipton narrowly defeated Phillip Glasgow II, securing 270 votes to Glasgow’s 247.

Howard County voters also approved the one-percent sales tax. The measure passed with a solid margin: 720 votes for and 324 against.

These results reflect strong community engagement on issues affecting local education and county infrastructure.
