Kreiger files appeal on sexual assault sentence
An appeal process is underway on a sexual assault sentence from Howard County Circuit Court. 78 year old John Kreiger, who now lists a Hot Springs address, was charged in 2019 and found guilty last fall by a local jury on charges of Second Degree Sexual Assault. He was sentenced to ten years in prison and fined $10,000 dollars. Kreiger is detained at a state prison facility but filed paperwork Wednesday in Nashville to begin the appeal. An appeal bond of $10,000 dollars was set. Once the bond has been paid to Howard County officials, Kreiger will be released from prison and begin serving house arrest. He will only be allowed to leave his residence for doctors appointments, court related matters, or to attend church services.
