NSD Hall of Fame Inductees

Saturday, the Nashville School District hosted the First Inaugural 2023 Hall of Fame Banquet.

The Hall of Fame Inductees were the late Coach Lester Bradley who was a graduate of the  1924  NHS Class , Todd Cooley 3 sport letterman and Rotary MVP, Coach Billy Dawson All Conference and State Baseball Player, Monisa Poole Dobbins who set school records during her high school years in  the 100 meters, 400 meters, 300 meter hurdles and high jump, Johnny Johnson 1983 graduate of NHS and he held state records in long jump, the late Coach Dwight Jones who was named Arkansas Coach of the year in 1962, the late Coach Billy Laird who had 5 state championship games and held a 15-0 record in 1996, Jared McBride who was the quarterback for the Scrappers in 1994, Mark Millwood who was a 1978 honor graduate of NHS and 3 year lettermen in football and track, Allan Ray 1969 and 1970 Rotary MVP, the late John Shaddox who was All State Fullback at Nashville in 1941 and 1942, Latesha Anderson Short who was an International track athlete at the age of 17, James Turley who was All District and the  All State Selection in 1967, Greg Washington 1996 Graduate and 1996 All Conference and All State, the late Johnny B White 3 time Scrapper rebounder and shooter, and AJ Whitmore who was the quarter back for the Nashville Scrappers and won two state championships in 2005 and 2006.

Coach Billy Dawson gave special thanks to some of the coaches and the Scrappers of 2005, 2006, and 2007 that played a major role in his life.

Johnny Johnson talked about some of his accomplishments and how he had an outstanding support system.

Monisa Poole Dobbins mentioned what this award means to her and how a village played a part in her upbringing.
