Lavaca man arrested in Pike County on drug charges

On November 24th, 2022, Chief Michael Lesher of the Glenwood Police Department was dispatched to N. 1st Street in reference to a vehicle blocking the roadway. 
As reported, dispatch advised Chief Lesher that they received a call stating that a white truck was parked on the yellow line in front of the Racehorse Gas Station and it was occupied by a sleeping male. Lesher observed a white truck matching the description on N. 1st Street and observed a male sleeping in the driver’s seat of the truck. 
The driver was identified as 39 year William Wesley Killip Jr of Lavaca.
It was reported that Chief Lesher smelled the odor of burned marijuana inside the vehicle. Killip admitted to smoking marijuana the previous day around lunch time. Lesher then searched the vehicle and discovered a silver container with a white crystalline substance and a small plastic bag with a white crystalline substance, located in the driver seat. Lesher also located a small portion of a smoked marijuana cigarette. 
Lesher found out through an ATLAS check that Killip had a suspended driver’s license. Killip was transported to the Pike County Detention Center and remanded to the custody of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office. Killip was charged with Possession of a controlled substance and driving while license suspended.
