Legacy Splits Games with Trinity Christian on the Road

LOCKESBURG, AR—Legacy Academy Warriors hit the road Tuesday night for away games at Trinity Christian School in Texarkana. Junior boys, senior girls, and senior boys all took to the court. Junior boys opened the night, where Legacy defeated Trinity 39-32. Legacy led 24-13 at halftime. The game tightened up some in the second half, but the Lockesburg team maintained the lead the entire night. Manolo Vasquez gave Legacy 16 points, followed by 10 by Eli Mitchell. Six more players put at least a couple of points on the board. Mitchell also had 6 assists. Gavin Owen scored 11 for Trinity.
Lockesburg’s Lady Warriors charged out of the gate, giving fans an impressive first half of girls’ basketball on the road. After outscoring Trinity in the first and second quarters, Legacy led at halftime 23-14. Trinity’s girls came back with a phenomenal third quarter that sealed the game for the home team. They scored 21 points in the third quarter alone, including 5 three pointers. The final score was 44-39 with Trinity securing the win. Grace Tucker scored 13 for Legacy, followed by Dori Bartek with 9, and Trinity Cox with 7. Landy Williamson led Trinity with 15 points, followed by Jordan Dougan with 13.
Legacy’s Senior boys faced an undefeated varsity team from Trinity with a lot of talent. The visitors from Lockesburg worked hard and played a nice offensive game but were outpaced by Trinity. Legacy couldn’t stop the scoring by #35 Zach Graf, who had 40 points for the home team. Micah Pete had 12 for Trinity. DJ Morris was Legacy’s top scorer with 28 points, followed by Ethan Gallagher with 19. Eli Hamilton contributed 11 points for the visitors. Morris and Gallagher each grabbed 13 rebounds for the Warriors.
Legacy will play again Friday evening for Homecoming vs. Gospel Light. Homecoming ceremonies begin at 5pm.
