Legacy Warriors Defeat Horatio Lions Lady Warriors fall to Lady Lions

LOCKESBURG, ARK—Legacy Warriors traveled to Horatio Thursday night for a Sevier County match up. The Lockesburg team secured a win over Horatio in senior boys’ action, while the Lady Warriors fell to a much more experienced Lady Lions team. The Warriors took immediate command of the boys’ game, holding the Lions to a single point on the board for the first thirteen minutes of the game, while they put eighteen points up themselves. Horatio found their groove at the end of the second quarter, outscoring Legacy for the quarter to tighten the game up. The second half was more evenly matched with the Warriors bringing home a 41-32 victory over the much larger school.

DJ Morris

Ethan Gallagher was the high scorer of the game with 28 points for the visitors, while DJ Morris put up 11 for the Warriors. Both also rebounded the ball well tonight with 9 rebounds from Morris and 13 from Gallagher. Brett Talley was acknowledged as the defensive player of the game for the Warriors. Horatio’s Migel Villeda gave the home team 12 points, all in the second half.
In senior girls’ play, Legacy’s young girls’ program was no match for the more experienced Lady Lions. Horatio defeated the Lady Warriors with ease with a final score of 55-15. Emma Ray and Cadee Glasgow were the high scorers for the home team, while Gracie Tucker and Dori Bartek led scoring for the visitors. Legacy is right back in action Friday night when all four of their teams play at home in Lockesburg taking on Genoa Central. Genoa will then host Horatio next Tuesday.
