Lockesburg man arrested on several charges
On December 17th, Howard County Deputy Trent Coffman responded to a domestic dispute in Mineral Springs.
As reported Coffman spoke with the alleged victim Ashley Parrish. Parrish informed Coffman that her boyfriend, 25 year old Waylon Levi Murphy of Lockesburg, had been drinking and they had gotten into an argument.
According to the affidavit, Murphy allegedly picked up a wooden two by four and hit Parrish with it and then hit her with a broom handle. Parrish also stated that Murphy went into the house and came out with a shotgun and shot it into the ground and then pointed the gun at Parrish while she was holding her child. Parrish reportedly told Coffman that Murphy even threatened to kill her.
Deputy Coffman then went to the residence where the incident took place and located the shotgun shells in the yard. The shotgun was later recovered by deputies at the residence.
Murphy was arrested on the scene and transported to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office and was charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member, possession of firearms by certain persons, endangering the welfare of a minor, and domestic battering in the third degree.
