Nashville Mayor proclaims April to be Child Abuse Prevention Month

On April 3rd, members of Casa (Court Appointed Special Advocates for children) and the Childrens advocacy center of Texarkana met outside the Howard County Courthouse. With them, Mayor Larry Dunaway proclaimed April to be Child Abuse Prevention Month. During the proclamation, Casa members shared their goals for Howard County. Currently, there are only 2 advocates in Howard County. Their hope is to find at least two more volunteers for the county. Training and information seminars are offered on Mondays at noon and 5:30pm through zoom, however, individual meetings are available.
