Mineral Springs City Council Invites Public To Special Meeting

The Mineral Springs City Council has scheduled a special meeting with the public today to receive comments regarding a proposed water rate increase.

At this month’s regular council meeting, aldermen suggested raising the basic rate five dollars for the first two thousand gallons of water used. That proposal would put the basic rate at 15 dollars. Council members said the higher rate is needed due to increases in normal operating costs. The city is also planning some major projects this year including painting the water tower and possibly acquiring a new sanitation truck.

Today’s meeting begins at 5:30 this afternoon at the Mineral Springs Town Hall.
