Mineral Springs City Council reinstates Chief of Police

Yesterday the Mineral Springs City Council held a special called meeting.

Aldermen of the Mineral Springs City Council reinstated Francisco Mercado as Chief of Police. There were four votes over one nay and one abstained to override Mayor Bobby Tullis’ decision to demote Francisco Mercado as Police Chief.

Chief Mercado expressed what this moment meant to him along with how he plans to continue to serve the city of Mineral Springs.

Mercado had a message for other police officers as well.

Also, during the meeting, the Mineral Springs City Council voted to establish a new bank account for the sewer project money at Diamond Bank. This account will have to be open to deposit money that will come from the state in increments for accounts payable. There is a total of four people on the account which are Denise Juniel, Frankie Harris, Myrtis Cheathem, and Charles Deloney. All were in favor of the recommendation.
