Mineral Springs Waterworks Lifts Boil Water Notice After Safety Tests

The Department of Health has officially lifted the ‘Boil Water’ notice for the entire Mineral Springs Waterworks system, effective immediately. The notice, which was issued on July 31, 2024, as a precautionary measure, was prompted by concerns over potential contamination due to a complete loss of normal system pressure and inadequate disinfectant levels.

Recent bacteriological testing conducted on August 8 and 9, 2024, confirmed that the water is free of bacterial contamination. Additionally, satisfactory disinfectant levels have now been established throughout the distribution system. As a result, the water is deemed safe for consumption, and residents are no longer required to boil their water.
