Murfreesboro To Apply For Development Grant
The city of Murfreesboro is applying for a Rural Development Grant of up to 75 thousand dollars. City officials say the money would be used for assorted improvements at the fire department including the installation of insulated doors and the purchase of a generator.
A public meeting must be held as part of the grant application process. That meeting will be July 16th at 6:00 PM in the new city hall.
A Murfreesboro city council member has resigned. Jason Allmon, who served the West Ward, resigned at Monday night’s meeting. The resignation is effective immediately. Council members will make an appointment to fill the position’s remaining term. Municipal rules in Arkansas allow for the appointed individual to also run for re-election if they choose to do so.
