NSD enrollment slightly down from last year

The Nashville School District’s annual report to the public took place prior to Monday’s September school board meeting. Superintendent Doug Graham reported a student enrollment of 1,882 students as of Monday. That number is down slightly from the previous year. If that continues, Graham said the financial result would be a loss of $175,000 dollars in revenue, which will affect the budget for the 21-22 school year. The food services department reported that fewer breakfast and lunches were being served this year, due in part to the reduced number of students from last year….and because of students learning through the virtual method. Building principals also noted that more students are bringing their lunch this year, presumably due to concerns of COVID-19.
