Pike County Quorum Court starting to work on 2021 budget

Planning is underway on the 2021 Pike County Budget. At Monday night’s quorum court meeting, County Judge Dewight Mack appointed Johnny Plyer, Jerry Kizzia, Robbie Crocker and Seth Kirkham to serve on the county’s budget committee. The judge also encouraged other members of the court to participate in the process as well.
Pike County received a good audit report for 2019, according to the judge. State legislative auditors determined the county was in complete compliance with state guidelines. Judge Mack praised the county officials for dong a good job for the citizens.
Monday’s brief meeting also included an update on activities conducted by the extension service in Pike County. Agent Terrell Davis said the office has been active, in spite of not being able to have in person activities due to COVID-19. Many programs have continued in a virtual method.
Judge Mack also announced that U.S. Senator John Boozman was coming to Glenwood October 2nd for a tour of the Glenwood treatment plant.
