Nashville Chief of Police and Howard County Sheriff speaks at Nashville Rotary Club Meeting
Wednesday, Nashville Police Chief Amy Marion and Howard County Sheriff Bryan McJunkins spoke to the Nashville Rotary Club about their Shop with a Cop program.
Marion said the Nashville Police Department has participated in the program since 2018. She said her department as applied for and received a Shop with a Cop grant from Wal-Mart every year. And, this year, Andi Green at Rehab Specialist donated all of the proceeds from her Harvest Fest to the department this year. Marion said they will take around 65 kids from the Nashville School District shopping this Friday. She said each child will have $175 to spend for Christmas.
McJunkins reported the sheriff’s department has been participating for the past five years. He said his deputies along with officers from the Mineral Springs Police Department and the Dierks Police Department will take students from Mineral Springs, Dierks and Umpire shopping on Tuesday, December 12. McJunkins said students will be given around $200 to spend this year.
McJunkins also shared a personal story about one of the children that will tug on your heart strings.
Wednesday, December 13, Nashville Primary School students will be singing, and the public is invited to join the Nashville Rotary Club for this annual holiday tradition.
