Nashville City Council
Nashville Public Works Director, Larry Dunaway, informed the Nashville City Council that the City of Nashville has been approved for the fifth phase of the city’s sidewalk project during the councils June meeting.
Alderman then approved a resolution expressing the city’s willingness to utilize federal-aid transportation alternatives program funds. The project is expected to cost approximately $500,000. The city will receive 80 percent of that amount from Federal-aid TAPs funding and will be responsible for the other 20 percent.
Last week, Dunaway also informed the Nashville City Council that the Collins Street bridge has been completed and work will begin on the Mount Pleasant Street bridge as soon as the beams are delivered.
Dunaway reported the water plant project was about 90 percent complete. He said they were waiting on some electrical work to be completed before they can start the pumps.
Dunaway also stated Charles Hostetler Roofing will be replacing the roof at the waste water plant. He said the city received $68,000 from their insurance company.
