Nashville City Council accepts bid from Leher Painting Enterprises
Aldermen of the Nashville City Council held their regular monthly meeting Monday.
Mayor Larry Dunaway explained to the council that he received a letter from the Arkansas Department of Health in regard to the most recent 2022 Tank Inspection Reports completed by Midco Diving and Marine. Dunaway stated the letter listed several significant deficiencies. Dunaway said a project like this would cost up to $3,000,000 dollars. Dunaway mentioned that the second letter from Civil Engineering Associates, was his response to the Health Department that lays out a timeline for ADH consideration and approval. Dunaway discussed receiving a bid from Leher Painting Enterprises Inc of Mayflower in the amount of $230,000 dollars. CEA was able to negotiate a schedule with ADH to spread the repairs out over multiple years due to the anticipated cost for all recommended rehabilitation. Dunaway suggested paying this bid with the COVID funds.
There was a motion made by Aldermen Donna Harwell and seconded by Nick Davis to accept the bid by Leher Painting Enterprises. All were in favor of the motion.
Dunaway discussed the water plant expansion project and the plans to meet demands on water.
Nashville Chief of Police Amy Marion presented to the council two policies: Body Worn Video Recording and Mobile Digital Recording. Marion asked the council to accept the added wordage to the policies. Marion stated the Body Worn cameras are their primary video and the mobile Car cameras are secondary video and that’s the reason why she wanted to adjust the policies. There was a motion made by Aldermen Freddie Horne and seconded by Nick Davis to approve the changes made for both policies.
