Nashville City Council Meeting
Monday, during the Nashville City Council’s regular monthly meeting, Finance Director Kimberly Green reported for the month of May, that the total revenue was $710,959.75 and expenditures were $748,599.49. The expenditures exceeded the revenue by $37,639.74. Green also stated a final payment was made for the Mount Pleasant Bridge in the amount of $113,915.25 which was made to Wooster Construction and $19,200 was transferred to the street fund for operating expenses. City sales tax decreased 0.4 percent which was $524 less than May 2022 and county sales tax increased 8 percent which was $7,202 more than May 2022.
Parks and Recreation Director Meghan Floyd reported that there were 9 teams sent to the state tournament for baseball and how it was a big accomplishment.
Floyd even mentioned to the council that she had an insurance adjuster to look at the Legion Hut roof that got damaged by the recent storms that took place this past weekend. Floyd stated that alderman Freddie Horne will assist her in finding a grant through the Heritage Grant Program that will help cover the cost.
