Nashville City Council Votes To Increase Water Rates
Water rates will be increasing January 1st in the city of Nashville. At Monday’s city council meeting, public works director Larry Dunaway presented aldermen with a recommendation to raise rates by two percent. Following some discussion, council members approved a motion from Monica Clark to raise the rates three percent next year with the possibility of additional two percent raises occurring every other year. Based on the four thousand gallon minimum usage, the rate increase will result in an additional one dollar nine cents being added to water bills. For senior adults, the increase will change rates to seven dollars 19 cents.
