Nashville City Council votes to raise water rates in 2024

Yesterday, during the Nashville City Council’s regular monthly meeting Mayor Larry Dunaway presented an ordinance to the council that was in regard to accepting a water and sewer rate study in compliance with ACT 605 of 2021. ACT 605 of 2021 tasked retail water providers with additional responsibilities in managing and operating their water systems, with some exceptions. These responsibilities include preparation of a rate study every five years or before any major development project.

After further discussion, aldermen of the Nashville City Council approved a motion to pass the ordinance to accept a water and sewer rate study in compliance with ACT 605 of 2021. In conclusion, Aldermen approved another motion to approve a resolution authorizing the sale of city-owned land in the amount of $10,800 dollars for 3.61 acres.
