Nashville City Park Director speaks at Rotary Meeting

Nashville City Park director, Megan Floyd was the guest speaker at the Nashville Rotary Club meeting last week.

Floyd said this year’s baseball program saw a 6 percent growth in participation. She also provided a report on the number of teams and players from Nashville that participated in this year’s program.

Floyd said the park hosts a softball league, but they do not organize it.

Floyd reported the park plans to host four camps this summer including a basketball camp, baseball/softball camp, flag football camp and a soccer camp.

She also mentioned several events on the park’s upcoming calendar.

Floyd said next year’s basketball program will be expanded after the Nashville School District agreed to allow the park program to use the practice gym at the junior high and she is applying for a grant to build two more tennis courts. She said the district has said it would match the grant to help the park build the extra courts.

Floyd also said the park was considering adding additional RV sites within the next 10 months or so in anticipation of the solar eclipse next April.
