Nashville Junior Scrappers Dominate Harmony Grove Jr Cardinals, 33-0
The Nashville Junior Scrappers put on a commanding performance at home Thursday night, defeating the Harmony Grove Junior Cardinals 33-0 in a decisive football matchup.
Winning the coin toss, the Jr Scrappers elected to receive the opening kickoff. Just 16 seconds into the game, quarterback Jacoby Hopson made an explosive start, sprinting 48 yards for the first touchdown of the night. Kicker Bayron Murillo successfully converted the extra point, putting Nashville ahead 7-0.
The Scrappers continued to build their momentum as Trendon Northcross scored shortly thereafter, though the extra point attempt failed, bringing the score 13-0.
The Jr Cardinals struggled on offense, and their misfortune continued when the Scrappers recovered the ball. Hopson seized the opportunity, scoring again and with Murillo’s successful extra point, the Jr Scrappers extended their lead 20-0.
In the second quarter, Hopson added to the tally with another touchdown, followed by Murillo’s successful kick, making it 27-0.
Before halftime, Jr Scrapper Bryce Ramsire found the end zone once more; however, the two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 33-0.
The second half saw no additional scoring from either team, as both defenses held strong. The final whistle confirmed the Jr Scrappers’ victory, improving their record to 6-0 in conference play and 7-2 overall.
