Nashville man arrested for drug possession

On September 10th, 2023, Nashville K9 Officer Greg Parker conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy Cruz for expired temporary tags. 

The suspect was identified as 47-year-old Derrick T Gray of Nashville. According to the affidavit, Parker was familiar with Gray from a previous stop in which Gray threw drug paraphernalia and fled on foot. It was reported that Gray allegedly confessed to Parker that he had drug paraphernalia inside the car. It was also reported that after Gray gave Parker permission to search his car, Parker located a glass pipe with residue believed to be methamphetamine along with a gum wrapper that was in Gray’s wallet which contained a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. 

Gray was arrested and transported to the Howard County Detention Facility. Gray was charged with possession of a schedule II-controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
