Nashville Man Arrested In Pike County
A Nashville man has been arrested on a variety of charges in Pike County.
Authorities say 44 year old John Dawson was driving a vehicle on Highway 195 near Delight when State Trooper Ryne Shelton noticed the vehicle’s license plate did not match the vehicle. Reports say the trooper also observed Dawson’s vehicle crossing the center line.
A traffic stop was conducted, and during the process, officers say Dawson told them he had illegal substances in the vehicle. While conducting a search, state police and Pike County Sheriff’s deputies said they recovered three syringes, one of which contained a substance believed to be methamphetamine. A clear plastic baggie containing additional amounts of suspected methamphetamine was also found under the vehicle’s driver seat.
Dawson was transported to the Pike County Jail. He is facing felony counts including Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia along with assorted misdemeanor charges.
