Motion made in the internet stalking of a child case of a Nashville man in Pike County Circuit Court
A supplemental discovery motion was made in the Pike County Circuit Court Tuesday morning on behalf of 49-year-old Ricky McKamie of Nashville in the case of the State of Arkansas vs Ricky McKamie on the charges of internet stalking of a child and computer child pornography.
McKamie’s attorneys, Justin B. Hurst and Story Phillips, are seeking copies of messages that were allegedly sent from McKamie to an undercover investigator with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and any and all information obtained while searched McKamie’s iPhone 14.
McKamie allegedly messaged the undercover deputy through a social media account in July of 2022. According to the arrest affidavit, McKamie continued to send messages the fake account of who he thought was a 15-year-old female through August of 2023.
In June of 2023, McKamie arranged to meet the “female,” but did not show up. However, in August, McKamie went to an undisclosed location to meet the minor. The investigator observed McKamie vehicle at the location. Deputy Chance Reid then conducted a traffic stop where he was taken into custody and transported to the Pike County Jail.
McKamie’s pre-trial date is scheduled for February 5, 2024, and his trial by jury date is February 22.
