Nashville man charged with aggravated assault
A Nashville man has been charged with aggravated assault after officers of the Nashville Police Department responded to an altercation involving a baseball bat on N 14th Street in Nashville. According to the affidavit, the complainant said that suspect, 70-year-old Hansford Allen Ray had left the residence heading East down Leslie Street. The complainant informed officers that he was in a relationship with Ray’s ex-daughter-in-law and that they were sitting on his carport talking when Ray pulled up and jumped out of his vehicle with a baseball bat.
It was reported that Ray then walked towards the complainant with the bat pulled back ready to swing, then walked back to the complainant’s truck and started knocking the windows out along with knocking one of the taillights out. The complainant informed officers that Ray reportedly got back into his vehicle and left the residence.
As reported on August 4th when officers interviewed Ray, Ray allegedly confessed that he went to the complainant’s residence but had no intentions of hitting the complainant and that he did knock out the complainant’s windows and taillights of the truck. Ray was also charged with criminal mischief in the 1st degree.
