Nashville Natives to Host Inaugural Mentor Hunt Fundraiser for Game Wardens
On Saturday, October 5th, Natives of Nashville will launch their inaugural Mentor Hunt Back the Game Wardens Fundraiser. The event will take place at River Ranch Headquarters, located at 390 Silver Ridge Rd, in Lockesburg.
Gary Dan Futrell, Coordinator of the event, revealed that the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission initially approached them to collaborate on gathering more data for managing deer herds and engaging youth in conservation efforts.
Futrell explained that this event is intended to serve as a pilot program, designed to educate young people about wildlife management and provide a new community activity.
He also noted that local sponsors have been actively supporting the initiative and praised the community for its generosity towards youth-focused projects.
Participants interested in joining the event can register through the Nashville Trap Team or Howard County 4-H. Youth hunters will be selling raffle tickets and t-shirts, and will also promote a silent auction. The silent auction, which begins on October 5th and ends on October 12th, will help raise funds directly supporting Arkansas Game Wardens and their crucial role in preserving natural resources.
